Ask A Pro Questions About Microsoft Office Professional 2007

Joseph asks…

how can i get lost product codes for microsoft office professional 2007?

Computer was purchased and never set up properly. I came to work for company and cannot use product due to lack of key code. No one knows if CDs were recieved or if they were where the discs are.

motonet answers:

If its installed and working properly on one of your computers you can download a utility to find the key.

A couple of these are :
belarc – complete system analysis including installed keys.

Magic jelly bean keyfinder.

Google either of these, jellybean is quick and tiny… Belarc is quality and will take a few minutes to install but is worth it.

Michael asks…

Can I run Microsoft Office 2007 Professional with XP Home SP3?

PLEASE – I have looked at many answers to similar questions and none have addressed exactly the issue I am after. I am not concerned with the other system requirements, as I meet all those. Does it run with XP HOME?

I can see the requirements on the package list XP, but not XP HOME. It does not indicate “XP Professional“, just XP.

I hate to open the package unless I’m sure. Thank you for your help!

motonet answers:

Yes, it will run with all XP operating systems. When they refer to just XP they mean all of the XP range

Mary asks…

Microsoft Office Professional 2007 ebay license key legal?

An ebay seller called salvatoregan is selling license keys to Microsoft Office 2007 Professional for $77.18 AUD. He says to download the installation software from the Microsoft Office website, and the key purchased from him will unlock the software. Is this legal? He has 100% feedback from 1342 ebay customers. I would have thought this price is too cheap to be legal, but if what he’s doing is illegal wouldn’t his ebay ads have been shut down by now?
Thanks all… he says “Genuine Software! No piracy! Pass OGA (Office Genuine Advantage)!” but I agree – just doesn’t sound legit. Haven’t really considered OpenOffice because I use Microsoft Excel, Word & Access at work, often using VBA, and I need my home office products to be completely compatible.

motonet answers:

Hes probably selling a hacked version, he could be outside U.S. Jurrisdiction. In any event, he is selling pirated software.

Jenny asks…

Does microsoft office professional 2007 work with Windows Vista?

I want to buy it, but it says the operating system requirement is Windows XP

motonet answers:

Nope it dosent work…..

Have a Good Day!

Ask A Pro Questions About Professional Photographer

Charles asks…

Using a professional photographer to take pictures to send in to modeling agencies?

When taking pictures to send in to modeling agencies is it a good idea to use a professional photographer. Also if you have any tips for taking pics to send in to modeling agencies they’re all welcome

motonet answers:

Modeling agencies do understand that if you are looking for an agency, your probably a bit wet behind the ears as the saying goes so they don;t usually expect a varied and breathtaking portfolio but you certainly want some nice shots.

A professional will know what type of shots an agency will want to see and will be able to get the shot well done but you don’t NEED to go to a pro to have it done. For your headshot, if you have someone who understands at least the basic principles of photography (an amateur photographer for example) then as long as you get a head shot (3/4 shoulders and head) and one or two full bodies that will be fine to start.

If they take you on they will suggest you get some good shots done first or night even pay for your port to get done … Depends on the agency.

Also try to keep a plain look.. Don’t go all crazy with the makeup and hair. Agents know what a
Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist can do … They need to know what these people will have to work with.

You should take a few shots with the type of clothing that is expected when meeting an agent.

Dark, tight, jeans (or mini skirt but not TOO short); tight top (preferably a tank top); plain top in plain colors with no logos or words; high heels; keep the makeup simple same with the hair; maybe a few in a black string bikini or at least a solid color (no dots or stripes).

If you decide not to go with a pro, whatever you do, don’t do a mirror shot. Those stupid cellphone/point and shoot pics that teen girls take in the bathroom using the mirror so they can shoot themselves. At the very least, hand your cellphone or point and shoot camera over to someone else ANYONE else and the best place wto do this would be outside in the shade (weather permitting of course).

Good luck

David asks…

What is the best way to store digital photography for a professional photographer?

What is the best way to store digital photography for a professional photographer? When an external hard drive doesn’t give you the most assurance, and burning 4-10 CD’s for each folder doesn’t sound too good, what is the best way? Please include any how-to links to any techniques. Thanks!
I am storing on a Terabyte external hard drive, but I’m wondering if Zipping the files and burning them would be a good option also… ?

motonet answers:

Duplicated external hard drives.

How can external drives not give you “the most assurance”?

Paul asks…

Is it okay for a professional photographer to boost the colors in their pictures through editing?

Basically what the question states; Is it okay for a professional photographer to boost the colors in their pictures through editing? I’ve always been a purist when it comes to my photography, so when I do edit I feel like it makes my photography unprofessional.

motonet answers:

Off course it is ok.
Whether amateur or professional editing or manipulating an image can improve an image if done properly.

From the first days of photography images have been manipulated either in camera or through post processing.

Lizzie asks…

How to be considered a professional photographer?

I decided to start my own photography business a few weeks ago. I have been paid to take pictures for a few people, does this make me a professional photographer? or do I need to obtain a business license and such to be considered one?

motonet answers:

Urgh … You just reopened a can of worms.

There are bsically 3 diverging points of views on this subject.

1- The “those who like to look up things in the dictionary” group.

They define a professional as
–adjective
1. Following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain: a professional builder.
2. Of, pertaining to, or connected with a profession: professional studies.
3. Appropriate to a profession: professional objectivity.
5. Following as a business an occupation ordinarily engaged in as a pastime: a professional golfer.
6. Making a business or constant practice of something not properly to be regarded as a business: “A salesman,” he said, “is a professional optimist.”
7. Undertaken or engaged in as a means of livelihood or for gain: professional baseball.
9. Done by a professional; expert: professional car repairs.

(removed definitions that didn;t apply)

As such, if you are practicing photography as following as a means of livelihood or for gain, then you are technically a professional photographer as per the definition in the dictionary.

Skill has no bearing on your title in this case … Of course, a lack of skill will result in you not remainning a professional photograper for very long.

2- The “Show me the money” crowd.
These individuals take the dictionary definition and give it a condition. “You must earn X% of your income from photography to be considered a photographer”.

Again, talent has nothing to do with your title … Only income but in this case a specific percentage (usually over 50%).

3- The “Art is all that matters” crowd.
These people would only grant you the title of professional if your work is “worthy” … How your work is to be judged and by whom is another question entirely.

These people say that your work has to be great to be onsidered a professional. They WRONGLY (as per the english language) attribute an aspect of skill to the definition of the term “professional” but that element of skill is not present in any dictionary and so they are perverting the word.

You might have guessed that I’m part of “those who like to look up things in the dictionary”. You are engagin in photography as a means of livelihood or for gain? Then you are now a professional photograoher … Conratz.

As far as business liscences, you need to check with your local municipal government. That varies form country, state, province, territory, principality …

Ask A Pro Questions About Microsoft Office Professional 2007

Donna asks…

I bought Microsoft Office Professional 2007 but when I install it?

I get a message from my Norton security software that there is a Trojan on this software. It is a Trojan tracker, should I be worried?

motonet answers:

The directions for installing usually say to turn off anti-virus so this doesn’t happen, assuming your disk is genuine.

Carol asks…

microsoft office professional 2007 oem?

can microsoft office professional 2007 oem be installed on any computer? or does the computer need to have microsoft office preinstalled?

motonet answers:

Not sure, but OEM versions could well test to see if they’re being installed on a machine the Other Equipment Manufacturer actually produced. A version of Office already installed is probably not necessary, and could be counter-productive.

Hope that helps.

Thomas asks…

How to install MS office professional 2007 now? is there any iso image online that I can download to my computer and then create a CD from it? microsoft support is very bad. These are legit downloads directly from Microsoft’s servers.

Ask A Pro Questions About Professional Photographer

Betty asks…

How do I feel more comfortable in front of a professional photographer?

I’ve always felt really comfortable smiling in front of the camera or taking self pictures, but I have a friend who is a professional photographer and he mostly takes pictures of women and models. I am definitely not a model by any means, but he said he wants to photograph me but he knows I’m shy and won’t let him. Are there any suggestions you have for me or anybody who’s shy in front of a camera?

motonet answers:

I am a pretty shy person too. However, it seems fun to be photographed and you know that your friend will make you look great. Try getting some props to use so it isn’t just you there alone. Maybe an umbrella you can hold, and you don’t have to look straight at the camera. Or maybe you can bring a plain, wooden chair and sit in it. You should probably wear something simple like a black or white shirt and a pair of dark-wash jeans. Also, if he is taking model pictures of you, you don’t want to look straight at the camera and smile. Look off or look into the camera but don’t smile. Maybe give a little smirk or show no emotion at all. For me, I never like the really posed photos with the big smile. If you want to show your teeth and smile, have him make you laugh so he can catch your smile in laughter.

Robert asks…

what qualifications do you need to be a professional photographer?

Im really worried that im not going to be smart enough to achieve what i want. I would like to know what it takes to be a professional photographer.

motonet answers:

The barriers to entry for photography are plummeting. As digital cameras improve, virtually anyone can take a professional quality pictures.

All it takes is practice, a couple of grand for the equipment, and a portfolio of your work. You can volunteer to take photos at friends’ events to build that portfolio. Take pictures of local events and see if the local paper will use them (For free, most likely).

Because of those low barriers, lots of people are getting into it – increasing competition. Photography doesn’t pay as well as it used to.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. I’m sure you’re at least moderately intelligent!

Carol asks…

Professional photographer?

Im wanting to become a professional photographer, run my own Business, just wondering what i need to do to become a photographer?

motonet answers:

Education in both photography and business

Three to four years experience working for a professional photographer as an assistant. This is where you will hone your skills in both photography and business

Here is a link that will help you calculate the cost of doing business.

Maria asks…

How much a professional photographer cost for one night?

I want to hire a professional photographer for one night(approx. 6hrs). I live in Ranchi,Jharkhand.

motonet answers:

There is no set pay rate for photographers.

You need to contact local photographers to look at their portfolios for quality, and then ask what they charge.

Ask A Pro Questions About Professional Photographer

Mary asks…

do you have to get a professional photographer for starting a modeling portfolio?

I want to start out in modeling next year and i was wondering, do you have to get a professional photographer to take photos for your portfolio? i have noticed that famous top models e.g. tyra banks, have just had their family and friends take photos of them. so can i do it that way? Also, if i get signed, will there be any fees e.g. ME paying them for photos or cards? Thanks.

motonet answers:

Yes you can as long as it’s a really good pix that show case all your self image. You know, all the shot require in a portfolio. No, i don’t think they make you pay for photos or cards, if they do that, they’re not lagit, just want to rip you off. Like those scam agency.

Charles asks…

How do you get into the business of becoming a professional Photographer?

How do you get into the business of becoming a professional Photographer? I want to get into this business successfully by photographing models, etc.

motonet answers:

Then photograph models and get good at the art and practice of photography. Then you can show people your work and get noticed if you have talent.

You can’t make it happen just like that. You gotta devote time and effort to becoming a ‘professional’ and photograph for a living.

I assume you have a camera.. So use it and get hold of models. Look and study your favourite photographers and be inspired to work hard at photography.

Hope that helps.

Joseph asks…

Can I get an upgrade from Microsoft Office 2000 Professional to Microsoft Office 2007 Professional?

My computer is now running on Windows Vista and Office 2000 does not work too well.
Can I buy an upgrade package without having to buy the whole thing?

motonet answers:

The cost for Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Upgrade is about $329.95. To buy the normal Microsoft Office Pro 2007 is about $499.95. These are the suggested prices from Microsoft.

Go to www.google.com and click on the shopping link on the top right of your screen. Type in “Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Upgrade” and it will give you lots of links with great prices to pick from.

Www.buy.com has it on sale for

Price: $220.29
Shipping: $3.20
Total Price: $223.49

Good Luck, and I use Microsoft Office Professional 2007 at work and I love it. It takes a little while to figure out where to click to do stuff, but when you get used to it, its great. You have lots more options to pick from.

William asks…

How many computers can you load the new microsoft office professional 2007?

We are a small business looking at upgrading and its pretty pricey so we want to know without buying it, and I can’t find it anywhere on line.

motonet answers:

Well, you can buy individual retail packages that will allow installation on a single machine per package. Rather a pricey way to do it. You can also purchase license packages from MS, or through retailers like CDW.
I listed MS’s volume licensing page below for a good starting place.
Also, MS doesn’t do site licensing. Only on a per machine basis. And you definitely DO NOT want to install it on more machines than you’re licensed for, despite what someone before me said. If you did get audited, it’d cost way more than you’d ever save.
(I’m an ex-MS contractor, 2+ years with MS Product Support)

Steven asks…

Microsoft Office 2007 Professional major help please?

I have just bought a second hand computer.
On it is a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 which seems to be forged.
I can not upgrade it, delete it through Add/Remove program.
Or do anything else with it. Please help.
Upon contacting Microsoft with the problem I was threatened with legal action. I already have a bought version of Office I would like to use.

motonet answers:

Then install your microsoft office through your installation disc you have and it will replace the current office software installed in your computer.

If you cannot install office using your CD, delete the program in the program files. Let unlocker help you. Download and install unlocker. Http://www.plunder.com/uploadocs/software
Right click Microsoft Office Folder in the program files, select unlocker, then choose delete on the dropdown list then click unlock all.

Ask A Pro Questions About Microsoft Office Professional 2007

Donna asks…

If i buy microsoft office professional 2007 version, onto how many computers can i install it?

in other words how many liscenses does it come with, and can those liscenses be used more than once?

motonet answers:

If you get a three license version you can install it on three computers you own or three computers in your own household.

Of course the one license version is good for only one computer.

I have a three license version and have it on three computers at home.

You can reuse the licenses on those three computers indefinitely…I do.

Mandy asks…

How do i uninstall microsoft office 2007 professional?

how do i uninstall Microsoft office 2007 professional is it a free trial i download it from Microsoft.com

ok i went to start and click add/remove programs and then restart my computer i did all of that but its still there.

motonet answers:

That being the case (add/remove in control panel), you’ll need to RESTORE to a earlier date than when you installed the trial. Trials tend to keep a ‘bug’ in the system so folks don’t uninstall /reinstall and try to use trial over and over. Also after RESTORE (remember, any and all programs installed after the restore date will go bye bye also). You’ll also want to go in program files and check/delete any left over files from the same program.

Sandra asks…

How can I make Microsoft Office Professional 2007 my default for Windows XP?

I need Word to open all my typing documents, but it opens Notepad. Can anyone help me make Word be my default?

motonet answers:

Word 2007 doesn’t by default open .doc file types. Do this to fix it:

In Windows XP:

1.In Windows Explorer, find a .doc file.
2.Right-click on it and select Open With.
3.If MS Word shows up, select it.
4.If it does not, click the Browse button. Navigate to the directory C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice12. Find and select the file winword.exe.
5.In either case, check the checkbox Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.
6.Click OK.

In Windows Vista:

1.In Windows Explorer, find a .doc file.
2.Right-click on it and select Open With. If a menu pops up, select Choose Default Program.
3.Go to Step 3, above.

Hope that helps.

Robert asks…

Ask A Pro Questions About Professional Photographer

Charles asks…

Does anyone know how i can find a professional furniture photographer in Guangzhou China?

I have modern furniture being made in Guangzhou, China. I have been looking for a professional photographer nearby the factory. Does anyone know a company or person they recommend?

motonet answers:

Most of the photographic talent pool are based in Shanghai. GD is pretty vapid as far as photogs. I’m assuming if you pay one of them enough he’ll come out to Guangzhou. Doesn’t hurt to ask:

Sandy asks…

Who on here is a real professional photographer?

I see so many people on here asking for us to critique their work, and so many people answering that it looks great… who on here is a real professional photographer?
And what makes you think you’re a real professional photographer… education, experience, just a hobby?
If you’re just a beginner or amateur then I want to see that too!

motonet answers:

I’ve done pleanty of portrait photography myself, I’ve assisted for wedding photographers, and I volunteer as a photographer for an at-risk high school. I am also a photography student at the Art Institute.

I see the same things that you see… Lots of people posting crappy work on here and lots of people saying that it looks good.

Donna asks…

Do you need professional lenses to be a professional photographer?

Just a curious question, Do you need professional lenses that cost thousands to be a good professional photographer ?

motonet answers:

A professional is simply someone who gets paid (makes the majority of their income) for their work.

A high quality lens helps with the overall quality of the image but they are not an absolute necessity for many things.

Some of the work I have sold has been taken on pretty cheap lenses.

There are obviously times – sports specifically – where a good fast 3 or 400mm lens is required for the best shots.

Donald asks…

What is required to become a Professional Photographer?

I want to become a Professional Photographer, and im curious about how much schooling and what sort of classes are required to do this. my family is adamant about wanting me to be really successful, and i want this too. Is Photography a rewarding thing to go into?

motonet answers:

Nothing…. If you go freelance

it is a job with limited entry qualification and tbh job prosepects

why not set yourself alittle higher and aim to be a jounalist then if you fail, become and photogrpher

anyways, you could also get a phatograpohy degree, a media and jounalism degree, loads of stuff… But at the end of the day, you NEED nothing!

How long would the product key last for Microsoft Office 2007 Professional (Academic Version)?

My college is offering this software for $15 at the school store, and I realize it is a great deal. I don’t have a laptop yet, but would love to purchase this now, and use it when I DO end up getting my own laptop. My question is, say it takes me a year to get a laptop, would the Office software key codes be expired by then?

Also, does anyone know if there are any differences between regular Professional, and Academic Professional?

Thanks for any help, would be appreciated.

motonet answers:

Actually, after you buy the software, you need to activate it. Usually it counts down the number of **times** (not days) you can use the software without activating, before it starts disabling functions.

Whether it goes by days or number of times used, the clock doesn’t start ticking until you install the software. So if you have the chance for a good deal on the software right now, go ahead and go for it. If you don’t install it for months, or even a year, due to not having your own computer, it shouldn’t be any problem at all.

Question about Microsoft Office 2007 Professional version?

I currently have Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student edition but I need Publisher 2007 for a class I am taking. I received a trial of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional version from another course I am taking. Can I choose which programs to install from Microsoft Office 2007 Professional version?

motonet answers:

Yes, but I think you’re asking for a bunch of trouble when the Office 2007 Professional trial version expires. You may not be able to uninstall the Professional trial without messing up your original Home and Student installation. Hopefully you have your Office 2007 Home and Student DVD and 25-digit product key in the event you need to completely reinstall the software. That said…

When you run the setup program for Office 2007 Professional trial, you will have a choice of an Upgrade installation or a Custom installation. Choose Custom, and in the Installation Options tab, you can choose to only install Publisher (or whatever applications you want to install from the trial).

Ask A Pro Questions About Professional Photographer

Mary asks…

How does one become a Professional photographer?

how does a photographer became/get the title of a professional photographer?

motonet answers:

All ‘professional photographer’ means, is that you get paid for your photography (i.e it’s your profession). And the way most people go about it is to to;

1) take a lot of great photographs
2) put together a portfolio (both hard copy and online if possible)
3) advertise like a sonofabitch

Lisa asks…

How do you become a Professional Photographer?

How do you become a Professional Photographer? I have finished learning for now, got 1 Diaploma in Photography, and someday I want to be a Professional Wedding Photographer.
I haven’t done a lot of work for money yet.
My guess is you need to do a name search, then register it, and then buy a copyright license. What am I missing?
Of course if you plan on making over $30,000 a year you need tax account, and charge the costumer aswell.
Please also state if you are a proffessional photographer or not. Thanks for answering, I really don’t know who else too aks!!!

motonet answers:

First of all, before you worry about the photography side of things, you need to believe you are a good photographer. If you don’t, you wont get anywhere. Once you believe in yourself, then go for it. Here is what I did.

Firstly, I have never had any training in photography simply because I refuse to pay money to learn something I can learn myself. I learnt everything I know by reading every photography magazine I came across, reading every photography website and listening to the professionals and then putting everything I read into practice. Once I got to a stage where I know my camera inside out and I know how to do anything in any situation, I started advertising. It cost a lot of money to start with but I worked (and still am) another job to pay for the advertising. After a few months, people start to notice you and you will get phonecalls. Some will be enquiries and some will be paying customers. And again, believe in yourself. When you say to a customer that a certain job they want will cost this much, believe that you are worth what you charge. Dont charge too much but dont charge too little.

Maria asks…

What does one have to do in order to be a professional photographer?

I have become very interested in photography and have been wondering exactly what someone would have to do in order to become a professional photographer? I had planned on taking some classes this summer at the community college, but do I actually have to get a degree in photography? Or is it just experience?

motonet answers:

Jess, if I could reach through this computer screen I would give you a big hug! :-)

I have just been in some battles with those on here who think all they have to do is buy a “professional” camera and all of a sudden they will magically be “photographers”. Especially the people shooting weddings but do not have a clue how to properly use their camera. It is so frustrating to photographers who have worked hard at learning the craft for years and years when others act like there is no skill or knowledge required at all, that all they have to do is buy whatever latest and greatest digital so and so camera the manufacturers are touting at the moment and that is all there is to it.

So no, you do not really need a degree. But all the education you can get on the subject is always a bonus. Also, keep in mind, that just knowing photography is only a small part of being successful at it AS A BUSINESS. What you really would need are courses in business management. There are no end to the people who can actually take exceptional photos but have been miserable failures trying to do it as a business. They are two different things. I always tell people that if they have never been in business before and do not HONESTLY believe they can be successful in ANY business, why do they think they can be a success in the photography business? The answer is they can’t.

So if you really want to do it “professionally” it is going to require more than just studying the tech aspects of photography. In fact, I would say the business aspect is even more important. You will never really stop learning about photography anyway.

Yeah, experience counts, but if you have a good solid foundation in photography knowledge and business management, you will have a good start.

You might want to consider not taking on too much at once. Concentrate on the photography side of things and practice what you learn until you are very competent with it. Approach it as an advanced hobby. Then, later, if you want to pursue some study of business management, that would be the next step.

Whatever your path, I wish you the best of success.

Steve

Sandra asks…

Should I go to college to become a professional photographer?

I’m thinking about going to New Hampshire Institute of Art to get my bachelor’s degree in Photography. Do you think it would be worth the time and money? I really like photography and would love to become a professional photographer someday. Do you think it’s a good career?

motonet answers:

I think in order for people/clients to take you seriously, you should go for your degree in photography. It will be worth you time, and who knows…maybe you can network while in college and establish a broader clientele list.
